Optometrist

Patrick Ford Heath, O.D.

Dr. Patrick Ford Heath is a dedicated family optometrist who has been helping patients of all ages achieve their clearest, most comfortable vision for more than three decades. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology before completing his Doctor of Optometry at the Southern College of Optometry in 1989.

With extensive experience in comprehensive family eye care, Dr. Heath is passionate about serving every member of the family—from helping children see clearly in the classroom, to ensuring adults enjoy sharp vision at work, to supporting seniors so they can fully enjoy their best years. He takes pride in providing thorough, efficient eye examinations paired with clear, easy-to-understand explanations so patients leave feeling informed and confident about their eye health.

A lifelong resident of Columbus, Georgia, Dr. Heath was born and raised in the community he continues to serve. He is married with two daughters, one grandchild, and two beloved dogs. In his free time he enjoys summers poolside, staying active through physical fitness, and relaxing at the beach. A devoted Alabama Crimson Tide fan, he also treasures any opportunity to get away and visit family—the moments that bring him the greatest happiness.

Russell Lynn Heath, L.D.O.

Russell Lynn “Rusty” Heath is a Licensed Dispensing Optician with more than 45 years of experience serving Columbus, Georgia, and the surrounding community. Rusty began his career in the optical profession through an apprenticeship under Ocie Crumpler, L.D.O. After completing his two-year apprenticeship, he successfully passed the Georgia State Board of Opticians and received his license on August 12, 1981.

Since 1981, Rusty has built his career around providing quality eyewear with knowledgeable, personal service. He is also a certified Varilux Lens specialist and a member of the Opticians Association of Georgia.

One of the things that sets Eye-Wear Unlimited apart is its full in-house surface laboratory, which Rusty has operated since 1988. The lab allows him to personally produce a variety of prescription lenses, including single-vision lenses, bifocals, and progressive lenses.

For Rusty, optical care has never been simply about selling a pair of glasses. It is about helping people see better, solving difficult eyewear problems, and treating customers with the kind of personal attention that has kept generations of families coming back.

After more than four decades in the optical profession, Rusty continues to bring the same experience, craftsmanship, and commitment to every customer who walks through the doors of Eye-Wear Unlimited in Columbus, Georgia.
